About

I’ve spent over 10 years in various consulting and engineering roles. During my tenure I’ve worked with clients of different sizes, industries, needs, tech stacks, and skills. Coming from a highly technical background I used to focus only on the technology and implementation, but over the course of time have come to appreciate the business aspects and that a technology implementation is only a means to an end, with the end goal to improve the business. Unlocking that potential and providing that value excites me because I am my customer’s biggest fan and want them to succeed.

During this time I have also seen how larger consulting companies operate. They are typically backed by private equity companies where at the highest levels of management the top priorities are revenue, margin, sales quota attainment, and billable utilization, which is of course fair, but customer experience and satisfaction are not tracked metrics; they simply do not matter.

From my own personal experience I have seen high quality, boutique firms get acquired and the engineering culture distort into corporate culture and the coldness that comes with that in the form of mass firings, inadequate compensation, and an ever increasing amount of responsibilities. In addition, when these companies grow they tend to bloat and fracture responsibilities across teams and systems, adding complexity and overhead. Systems get built and maintained by individuals that lack consulting and technical project experience and as a result things become very inefficient and tedious. The most talented people at these companies will burn out and leave in search of something more rewarding, leaving the check collectors behind to operate the ship. The customers pay the price because all of this added overhead and the effects of margin squeezing rolls onto them. Poor experiences are common.

This consulting company is my take on a modern consulting firm that addresses these issues and exists not solely to make money on the backs of customers and employees, but to earn a living doing things I love, working with people I like, and adding value with my unique blend of skills, style, and depth of experience.
